Bohemia Cup (Handball) Plzen, Czech Republic - 03 untill 04 April 2010 (Easter) (cz)

On Friday afternoon, teams will be welcomed by the Euro-Sporting representative and members of DHC Plzen. After dinner all the teamleaders are invited for an info and welcomes meeting. Meanwhile participants have time to explore Plzen. On Saturday the competition starts and, in some cases also the evening will be used for handball. On Sunday the classification and finals will be played. The programme will be concluded with a great farewell party and prize-giving ceremony in disco “Arena”, situated near Domov Mladeze Karlovarska.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. The accommodation we offer has been selected with care and must comply to a number of conditions such as are they within easy reach of the sports park, do they provide value for money, are they suitalbe for sports groups, are they safe and are the management fliexible. Plzen (Pilzen)is a city with some 163,000 inhabitants, 60 miles south west of Prague, and is the fourth largest city of the Czech Republic. This is where the famous pilsner lager was discovered sometime around 1842. This tasty drink was already exported to various countries since the middle of the last century. The secrets can be discovered in the Pivivarnické museum, a malt-house dating from the middle ages in the Veleslavinova street, or in the West Bohemian brewery (U Prazdroj) where you can test the drink yourself. The space for bears is the second largest of Europe. Monkeys and large cats live in a natural habitat. Next to the zoo is the largest natural amphitheatre in the Czech Republic. Plzen historical catacombs. The catacombs, created between the 14th and 18th century under the whole of medieval Plzen, are a complicated system of two-three level cellars and catacombs, and over 250 wells. The passages are about 20 km in total length. The tour of the catacombs is approximately 750 meters long and descends to depths of 9-12 meters under the city. Opening hours: Sat-Sun: 09.00 ö 17.00.
