Can you picture yourself wandering the cobblestone streets of Staré Mesto? Drinking a beer at U Fleku? Visiting the Strahov stadium? Competitors in the Moldava Cup don't have to worry about missing out on the attractions of the golden city of Prague. This tournament offers a perfect combination of playing football and visiting a great city. The first chance to go into Prague is after the check-in on Friday afternoon. However, on Saturday all players are expected on the fields to play at least three matches in the preliminary rounds. There'll be a lot at stake because only the first and second placed teams will go on to play the qualification matches and the finals on Sunday. For the rest of the teams, this means that they'll have even more time to enjoy the beauty of Prague! For teams that would like to play some more matches however, friendlies can be organized. The finals and the prize-giving ceremony will take place at the sports grounds of Sterboholy.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. Prague. The beauty of Prague is legendary since the middle ages. The Czech love their capital and have a passion for their past. As a result, the city is beautifully preserved. No wonder that Prague works like a magnet to visitors from all over the world. Here, they will find a fabulous architecture, numerous impressing monuments, charming alleys and lively shopping areas in a historical setting. Prague is build on seven hills, divided by the Moldau river, which is spanned by 15 bridges. The centre consists of 5 sections, each with a distinguish flavour: Staré Mesto (Old Town) with its winding, narrow cobblestone streets, Nové Mesto (New Town - don't be fooled: over 600 years old) with the popular Wencelas Square, Malá Strana (little town), the most picturesque part of Prague filled with palaces, Hradcany - the quarter around the famous Prague Castle and Vysehrad, named after the fortress on the cliffs rising high above the Moldau river and finally Josefov-Jewish ghetto with the spirit of Franz Kafka. Shopping. Where better than on the Wenceslasplein and the surrounding main shopping streets. A number of large warehouses can also be found here. The Karlsbridge is a favourite location for street vendors, which livens up the streetscape considerably. The nightlife is concentrated on the Wenceslassquare and surrounding area. Simply follow the noise! There are also many traditional pubs, a number of which are very well known. The most famous is U Flekò in the New City (Køemencova ulice 11). It dates from 1499! www.prague.cz Worth seeing: * Pub 'U Medvidku'. This famous Czech pub in the centre of the city offers four menus courses and different kind of drinks (unlimited consumption). Price: approx. € 17 per person. Opening hours: 11.00 - 23.00 * The city hall of the old city. The astronomic clock is the main attraction here: it chimes on the hour and twelve apostles appear. * The Tõn Church (Malá Strana), an impressive Renaissance construction with two imposing eighty metre high towers, which dominate the view of the city. * Prague Castle. A famous attraction dating back to the 9th century. It was home to Emperors in days gone by, and the Royal Palace is open to the public. The 'Alley of Gold' is full of picturesque houses ( the writer Franz Kafka once lived at number 22), and many of them now house souvenir shops. * PetøÍn hill: Beautiful view of the golden city of Prague from the PetøÍn hill (Little Quarter). The 65 m viewing tower gives an impressive panoramic view of the city.The Strahov Stadium is the largest football stadium in Europe. It has almost 8 hectares and offers space for 240,000 spectators! The stadium was originally built in the nineteen thirties, but it was fully renovated in 2002-2003. In addition, the latest technology is utilized, such as laser-controlled bulldozers. The stadium currently has a main pitch, five grass training fields and two fields with artificial grass, all furnished with perfect drainage systems and automatic spraying installations.
